Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world”, said Nelson Mandela. In today’s industrialized society, education is a crucial factor that plays a significant role. To thrive in today’s competitive environment, people require a strong education. People with education are the foundation of modern civilization, allowing them to apply better solutions to their issues.

Even while the country is making progress, it is insufficient. Keeping in mind the current situation of a pandemic where access to education has become more difficult, the Rotaract Club of Narsee Monjee College, a youth organization affiliated with Rotary International, working under the guidance of Rotaract District 3141, Mumbai, and The Rotary Club of Bombay West, an institution-based club of SVKM’s Narsee Monjee College of Commerce and Economics along with the Rotaract Club of Loyola College based in Tamil Nadu, sponsored by the Rotary Club of Madras, Rotary International District 3232 has undertaken “Enlighten-Knowledge Beyond Books” a year-long initiative that aims to educate unprivileged individuals regardless of any background with training in practical courses such as Basic English Speaking, Basic Computer Skills, and Art and Craft by enlisting the help of volunteers from all over the world.

We also want to raise awareness about the fact that learning has no age restriction. It is possible to learn as long as one has the desire to do so. Another crucial part is that we want to use this initiative to provide people with the opportunity to share what they’ve learned so far and make a difference in someone’s life, no matter how small or great that influence may be.

After successful completion of 6 months of this initiative, The Rotaract Club of Narsee Monjee College along with The Rotaract Club of Loyola College is proud to announce that a total number of 332 sessions have been conducted with the help of 50+ volunteers, impacting more than 90 people from4 different NGOs located in Mumbai, Gujarat &Varanasi and a school from Tamil Nadu, India. The students range from age groups of 10-40 years.

With the aim to upscale the project and help out more people with the training of these courses which are very important in today’s world, we require your support. The best part of learning is sharing what you know.

Thus, we provide you with an opportunity to share the knowledge that you have acquired so far by training the underprivileged, honing their skills, and creating an impact on their lives at the comfort of your houses through online training. It is rightly said by Margaret Fuller, “If you have the knowledge, let others light their candles in it”. So, we request you to take a plunge over this opportunity and enrich someone’s life with your knowledge by volunteering for this initiative.
