Walmart bought Flipkart at $16 billion and is now all set for Flipkart’s IPO at $10 billion! This comes up with an opportunity for Flipkart to double its valuation up to $40 billion. In July 2020, Flipkart was valued at around $24.9 billion with the majority stake of Walmart at 82.3%.

The American retail giant had acquired Flipkart for $16 billion for a 77% stake in 2018. And just in about 2 years, it has accelerated its pace to sell a 25% stake of the Indian online retailer giant to retail investors. The funds raised through this IPO by Walmart will be used for Flipkart’s global expansion considering the booming demand in the eCommerce sector.

Recently, Flipkart was also on CCI’s radar for being a dominant player in the retail sector. But that certainly has not pulled down its motives to achieve more.

How many times do you think will Flipkart IPO be subscribed? Will it be more from the recent Burger King IPO subscription (157 times)?
