One Stop Platform for Job Seekers & Recruiter in this Pandemic: COVID-19 Free Jobs Forum

COVID-19 has dramatically altered the hiring landscape in India. Lay-offs, firings, furloughs dominate the headlines, thousands have been laid off indefinitely without due compensation. However, amid the gloom, there are companies, which are still hiring. Some of the hiring domains being: E-commerce, Pharma, Food Companies, Online Education and Gaming, which are among those looking for people.

Suyash and Rajat, two entrepreneurs came up with a social initiate Covid-19 free job forum, a Google Form with the title “Register yourself for Job Opportunities” which consists of necessary information like Name, Number, Mail Id, Field of Job, City, Last Company Name, Last Salary, Designation. Within 24 hours of their launch, the google form started getting good responses and it crossed 100+ Job Seekers details.

Covid 19- Free jobs is started to help Job Seekers Community on a large scale from the HR’s point of view. Initially the duo started off by commenting on various LinkedIn posts where they used to see people getting laid off, fired or looking for some new job opportunity. They started getting responses slowly & started approaching HR’s personally who are hiring during COVID-19.

The main value proposition here is giving HR’s the opportunity to filter out candidates according to requirement without initially checking the CV’s one by one, also providing free access of Live Database of Form Responses (Consist of Job Seekers Details) in which, on daily basis, more than 60+ New Responses are coming.

To build trust amongst job seekers and HRs, so that the job seekers don’t have the notion of the platform being just a data collection practice, the duo started sending mails to various HR’s as well as job seekers where they thought of using their original identity as well as sharing their LinkedIn profile link & personal mail id so that if anybody has any doubt then they can get in touch with them anytime.

The platform has also made a company page on LinkedIn, which does not share any job updates like other Job Pages, it rather acts as a bridge between Job Seekers & Job Givers. On LinkedIn Pages, it started sharing useful resources i.e. other jobs related LinkedIn pages or profiles, which are sharing Job Resources. These steps have helped in a very positive manner.

Few HR’s have asked a pressing question, how are they making sure that Job Seekers data is secured? Data security is of utmost priority here at Covid 19 – Free job forum, responses sheet is accessible to anybody on request & view basis only. Also before giving access to any mail ids, the platform also indulges in cross checking whether a company is currently hiring or not.

Recently the platform has completed two month as well as 13,000+ Registrations of Job Seekers through google form and  500+ HR’s actively using the database from Top Companies. On a daily basis 40-50 people are active on Google Sheets. The platform is also moving aggressively towards onboarding more HR’s. It has recently created a Live Online Jobs & Internship Sheet to help Job Seekers so that they can view recent job openings (350+ Recent Job Listings) & can apply directly. Within 4 Days of its launch, the platform saw a traffic of 1500 Unique Users using it. 

Suyash and Rajat have planned to take it on a higher scale and they do not have any plans to monetize this initiative as of now, as the aim is to help people understand the learnings by building a simplified Job Marketplace. The platform has recently launched website http://freejobsforum.com to build more trust among Job Seekers & Job Givers.

The platform is working towards collaborating with various similar people or initiatives who have the same vision & objective to help people. Recently Covid 19- Free Jobs collaborated with The Representative as their Official Knowledge Partner, which is providing crisp & simplified news to our Job Seekers. Another collaboration they had recently is with Coronatracker.in, where people can see updated corona cases. 

They want to create larger impact & believe in changing the LinkedIn trend where generally people use to write about “Commenting for Better Reach”, instead they want people to tag COVID-19 Free Jobs Forum so that job seekers can get to know more about the free jobs forum as they believe at the end we all want to make a greater difference rather than just reach.

We will be working on providing best possible resources to Job Seekers on ways to improve their resume as well as career advice & support for finding the right job for one’s skills.
