India’s overall #mobile subscriber base 2G, 3G & 4G declined by 3.2M in June, taking the total to 1.14B. This highlights the new demand for 5G. Jio, in 5G, is also the frontrunner with indigenous technology onboard. Total subscription in urban areas saw a dip from 636.8M in June from 637.9M.
At the end of May’20Even, the rural subscriptions declined to 523.7M as of 30 June from 525.8M a month ago, as per the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India(TRAI). With India being the world’s 2nd largest telecommunications market & world largest internet market, 500M new internet users are expected. Jio has been the market #disruptor ever since its launch in 2016 & continues further to do so by soon rolling out millions of smartphones at just Rs 4000
